Breakdown of Violations
The official report delineated that 12,961 people were apprehended for residency law infringements. Additionally, While 4,177 were detained for attempting illegal border crossings, and an additional 2,572 for labor-related infractions.
Nationalities and Distribution
The report outlined that among the 979 individuals apprehended for unauthorized entry into the Kingdom. 54 percent hailed from Ethiopia, 43 percent from Yemen, with the remaining 3 percent belonging to other nationalities.
Additional Interceptions
Additionally, 46 individuals were intercepted attempting to cross into neighboring countries. While 12 were held for their involvement in facilitating transportation and harboring of violators.
Legal Ramifications
The Saudi Ministry of Interior emphasized that individuals found aiding illegal entry into the Kingdom, including providing transportation and shelter, could face imprisonment for up to 15 years, a fine of up to SR1 million ($260,000), along with vehicle and property confiscation.
